Ship Husbandry Service

Seamar is certified by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and Det Norske Veritas (DNV) to perform a wide variety of inspection and repair services for domestic and international marine management agencies, vessel brokers, vessel operators, municipalities and governmental agencies. Seamar is also approved to perform ship husbandry services by the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Non Destructive testing in offshore and inland rig drilling facilities

  • Thickness measurement on: platform´s fuel tanks, drilling ballast water, vessel hull, processing pipelines and structures.

  • Ultrasonic inspection on: weld (angle beam) pressure containers subjects (Straight Beam)

  • Magnetic particles inspection on: Crane pedestal, lifting components, crane hooks, drilling tools, winches, lifting lugs, rescue system welds and ferromagnetic elements.

 
 

Minor and large vessels and offshore drilling units underwater inspection.

Liquid penetrant inspection on: Ship propulsion system such as: (rudder, propellers, shafts and struts), crane hooks, welds, etc.

Current Eddy inspection on: Welds preserving the integrity of the anticorrosive coating.

Alternate current field measurement inspection on: Welds to detect surface cracks, mainly generated by fatigue.
