Seamar Operational Post Hurricane Ike
HOUSTON (September 15, 2008) – Seamar, a leading provider of subsea construction, inspection and offshore and inland fabrication services to the domestic and international oil and gas industries operating in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico and select Latin American markets, announced today that the company has resumed all operations post Hurricane Ike.
“We are happy to report that all of our employees, both offshore and onshore, have been accounted for and are safe,” said Eloy Anaya, President of Seamar. “Our subsea and fabrication facilities in Houston weathered the hurricane rather well and sustained minimal damage. Our personnel and equipment are prepared and ready to go to work.”
Seamar’s headquarters in Stafford, TX is fully functional minus email capabilities due to the citywide telecommunications issues incurred by Hurricane Ike. “Currently, we are operating by phones and fax at both our subsea and fabrication facilities, but we expect to resume email capabilities as soon as possible,” said Luis Martinez, Seamar’s General Manager of U.S. and Mexico.
