Seamar's ROV Operations Growing in Mexico
HOUSTON (September 5, 2008) ? Seamar, a leading provider of subsea construction , inspection and offshore and inland fabrication services to the domestic and international oil and gas industries operating in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico and select Latin American markets, announced today the completion of its latest successful ROV project involving Seamar’s observation class ROVs.
Seamar performed an extensive hull inspection of the FPSO Yuum Kak Nab, a 341 ft., Bergensen Worldwide?owned floating, production, storage and offloading vessel by utilizing a small fleet of observation class ROVs. Working at depths exceeding 335 ft., Seamar inspected the hull, moon pool and mooring lines of the FPSO along with the vessel’s working environment which included its risers and PLEMS.
“This was an extensive ROV inspection project that required expert control of the ROV vehicles while maneuvering around a working FPSO,” said Luis Martinez, General Manager of Seamar’s U.S and Mexico Operations. “With each project and with our expanding ROV fleet, Seamar is well on our way to becoming known and respected as a quality ROV service provider.”
